Last Minute Christmas Gifts Ideas

Many people have a lot going on around the holidays, and it can be very easy to forget about one person. You might need to just add a little something for the stocking, but no matter the reason, there are some easy options for you. This can also come in handy if you are struggling on what to get a certain someone, because let's be honest, all the instagram stalking can get tiresome.

1. Money

You can never go wrong with the old-fashioned way of gift giving. It may be a less original gift to give, but I have never complained if I got money during the holidays.

2. Something Useful

Try and think of items or things that the said person could find helpful. Maybe they need a newer edition crockpot, or they might need a new flat iron, because there's doesn't work good anymore. It may seem mundane to you, but that minor attention to detail can mean a whole lot to someone you care about.

3. Gift Card

Whether your friend is obsessed with Amazon (like me), Books-a-Million, or Sephora, a gift card is the perfect gift to feed into their addiction. Without having to worry over what exactly to buy, you can just let them do it theirselves.

4. Subscriptions

Once again, you can reduce your stress by making their life a little easier. Pay for their Disney plus, a book of the month, or Amazon Prime membership. No matter if they prefer shopping, reading, or entertainment, there is a subscription perfect for just about anyone.

5. A cozy blanket

I love nothing better than a soft and warm blanket. You can create a personalized one, if you want to add a sentimental flair. A blanket might be a smidge simple, but it is the small things in life that mean the most.

6. A coffee mug

You can find the best mug for you friend, whether they love animals, the show FRIENDS, or cups with inspirational sayings. It is a useful item, and can be aesthetically pleasing.

7. Mini waffle iron

It is a great gift for that friend that loves a good midnight snack, or if y'all live in a dorm and need it to be a compact size. Always remember that good food is the way to the heart.

8. Oil diffuser

One of my best friends is absolutely obsessed with hers, and every time I enter her room it is filled with different auras and vibes. The oils truly change the atmosphere of the space, and can create a warming place for you to come home to.

9. An adult coloring book

They have quickly became more mainstream, and they come in many different forms. Everything from t.v. show themes to the adult forms of Disney characters. You can tailor the book to the vibes of you friend, and this provides a mechanism for relaxation and creativity.

10. Gift sets from Ulta

Who doesn't love makeup or beauty care? They come in all shapes, sizes, and uses, which is perfect for just about everyone. It gives your friend just a little bit of options for a reasonable price.

At the end of the day, the fact of gift giving is a personal and caring experience. Anytime some gives a gift, it makes those involved feel loved and enlightened at the fact they were thought about. No matter what you decide to get them, really dig deep into your heart routed in to the joy of giving.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
