Why 'The Last Five Years' Is The Best Movie On Netflix
Theater Mania

A year and a half ago I was perusing Netflix on one of my Sunday-night binges. I came across a movie called The Last Five Years and have watched it so many times since that I think it's actually an obsession.

I think everyone could benefit from watching this movie at least once, and here are a few reasons why:

1. It shows what love is supposed to be like

Anna Kendrick's character is so genuinely in love with Jeremy Jordan's. If someone ever looks at you the way she looks at him... keep them!

2. Anna Kendrick

Whether or not you've given it much thought, there's no way anyone can hate Anna Kendrick. She's really just everything that is good and pure in the world. I mean... have you seen her tweets?

Anyway........

3. It shows what hurt really feels like

The way this movie was directed, scored, and the acting really made the hurting authentic to the point where you can feel it in your chest and you start thinking about your high school heartbreak thinking it's even remotely related to the plot of the movie. When Anna cries, we cry.

4. Lots and lots of singing

Both Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan have some lungs on them, so it's much appreciated when they belt it out and I can watch it from the comfort of my bed when I'm having a bad day. Most of the movie is singing. There's a lot.

Like, a lot.

Like...

A lot.

5. Sorry, but... Anna Kendrick

Our lord and savior.

It's on Netflix and ready to be watched whenever you give a change. I would highly recommend it.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
