Last Call At An Orlando Nightclub, And Then the Shots Rang Out

The events of the early morning hours of Sunday, June, 12th 2016, has been on everyone's minds. Instead of trying to explain what happened that horrible morning, I wanted to focus on the positive. Here are some of the tributes to the victims that touched me.

1. Frank Langella's Acceptance Speech

The veteran actor won the Tony for Leading Actor In A Play at the 70th Annual Tony Awards for his role in The Father and gave one of the simplest but most wonderful acceptance speeches I have ever seen.

2. Vigil at Stonewall

Thousands of people flocked to the iconic gay establishment, where historic riots took place in 1969.

With heavy hearts, LGBT people and allies celebrated the lives of our fallen brothers by celebrating our community and the progress that we have made. Fear and hate cannot overcome love. For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
