This Shelter In Costa Rica Is Home To 1,000 Stray Dogs

Territorio de Zaguates or The Land of The Strays is a shelter that is home to over 1,000 stray dogs.


According to the facility website, it takes about $11 a month to provide a home for each dog on the farm, $5 a month to provide each dog with medical care and $20 a month to feed each dog a full, small plate. That rounds up to $36 a month per dog, so maintaining this establishment isn't easy.

Visitors are encouraged to come and play, walk and fall in love with the dog of their dreams and with so many pooches, it would be hard not to find your best friend here.
