It seems to be on my heart a lot to travel the globe or just to explore the states. Recently between 2016 to 2017 I traveled to Kona, Hawaii where I did volunteer work, but don’t get me wrong three months on a tropical island by far was freaking amazing. I just prefer the precious moment of getting off the plane at the airport and driving back to good ole Lancaster County.

Honestly you probably are thinking I must be out of my mind at this point. That I would take the smell of cow poop and getting stuck behind a buggie at the worst possible time because in reality you need to get to work on time. Those are the little things I missed while I was away from home and I will always be a home body at heart.

I think it’s very hard to replace home, and why? Well I like my home even if I can’t stand it sometimes and have a wanderlust mind inside. It has so many things that all the places I have been to I want to visit again. Let me list some for you; the farmers markets on the side of the roads or in the small towns with many amazing seasonal fruits and vegetables that are irresistible. One that I can’t get enough of is we have all four seasons so I never get tired of the weather because it changes and that’s one thing that makes me never miss coming home from my long travels abroad.

In the beginning of the summer in 2017 the doors opened again to go abroad to Norway! I got excited to go and travel yet again and it seemed like the right time to go and get away from Lancaster and explore to see what’s out there for six months. Well 1 country turned into 12+ and just to see the different cultures and languages and landscapes it was almost too overwhelming for me.

That being said I went to amazing places. You name it and I loved it, but after you have reached the max travel high you are ready to see home again. I can’t live away from Lancaster that long it’s where my heart is and I just think traveling four weeks at a time is what I’m meant to do because I don’t feel anyway wanting to leave for long times. With how I’ve been longing for home I think I’ll stick to that plan.

I would encourage all of my European friends to come to Lancaster County and see the things that I love the most when I’m in my hometown. I like being a tour guide it’s something fun I enjoy (it won’t be a full time job ever for me though), but with friends it’s a definite.

Driving through back roads with my music going or taking the train to Philadelphia, I have it all in a hour distance and that’s just my forte. I’m in love with Lancaster and so are others, but I can’t speak for them because everyone has there own opinion. I know for sure that I’m staying in Lancaster for a good while; it's a place you can't beat.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
