Because she has more to her than her "Poker Face."

Why I Look Up To Lady Gaga

OK, this may sound cliché, but I’m proud of Lady Gaga. I have been a little monster ever since her “Poker Face” days and have loved her artistry. Lady Gaga has consistently pushed the limits in pop music and recently has taken different career paths. I applaud Gaga for doing what her heart desires which a lot of people don’t take the time to do. I will walk you through some reasons as to why Lady Gaga is someone I look up to.

Pop Music Punch

Lady Gaga burst onto the music scene with her album, "The Fame" and caused the pop music industry to do nothing but talk about her. Lady Gaga has always been an aspiring musician, but finally got her break and she sure did succeed. I remember the days listening to “Poker Face,” “Bad Romance,” and “Paparazzi” and being nothing but captivated. I have always been a music fan, but Gaga brought a new sound to the scene. It was a sound that wasn't afraid to experiment all while dominating the charts. Lady Gaga especially experimented with her album "Artpop," which didn’t sit well on the charts besides the lead single, “Applause.” Gaga didn’t let that stop her because she produced her most expensive music video ever with “G.U.Y”. I loved how she didn’t give up on the album even though others did. The loyal little monsters remained there with her and supported her continuously. Lady Gaga then took on another sound with jazz singer Tony Bennett on the album "Cheek to Cheek," which was awarded a grammy. Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett toured together with that album and you could tell that Lady Gaga was loving what she was doing. During her "Artpop" era she was having management trouble which didn’t help the situation, but with "Cheek to Cheek," she was back to something she truly loved. Also, can we just take a minute not only to appreciate Gaga’s artistry, but her jazz album truly showcased her vocal talent. We all knew she was talented with her pop music and had vocals for that, but jazz music fits her voice amazingly. Lady Gaga is one of those artists that has the powerful vocals, and visionary as an artist that makes her one of a kind.

More Than A Musician

Lady Gaga wrapped up her "Cheek to Cheek" tour with Tony and was stepping into a very anticipated role. Lady Gaga was going to have a major role in "American Horror Story Hotel." The new season was already very anticipated, but having Lady Gaga in the new season drew even more excitement to it. This wasn’t Lady Gaga’s first acting experience because she has had smaller roles in films like "Machete Kills," but this was a huge role for her. Gaga’s performance in this series was received well and it even landed her a Golden Globe nomination for her role, which she won! I literally jumped off of my couch when watching her receive that award, because you could tell how much it meant to her. Gaga even said that acting was a dream she wanted to reach even before being a musician, and seeing her achieve that goal is heartwarming. Lady Gaga was also just nominated for an Oscar for her song “Till it Happens To You” which is featured in "The Hunting Ground." You know dang well I’ll be rooting for her at that award show, as well. I’m honestly amazed as to how much talent Gaga has; from performing “Born This Way” to winning a Golden Globe. It makes me appreciate Lady Gaga even more because she truly is multi-talented.

Passionate

Lady Gaga is not only a talented musician, but she also has a huge heart. Lady Gaga and her mother Cynthia are the force behind her foundation they in fact started. The Born This Way Foundation is one that is empowering youth and inspiring bravery. The foundation was launched in 2012 and has dedicated its time to inspire the youth in safe ways to create a kinder and braver world. The foundation has since helped countless of young people overcome challenges and help spread love. I think that this is absolutely amazing how Lady Gaga not only puts her time and talent in to her artistry, but she takes time to invest in foundations and issues that she truly cares about. Lady Gaga is not one of those artists doing it just to look good; she is doing it because she genuinely cares about it. Lady Gaga has also been an outspoken LGBT equality advocate. You can tell when she speaks about these things that it means a lot to her, and that is heartwarming to see.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
