Lady boss, or even referred to as a boss lady. These terms pretty much speak for themselves but just in case you need me to make the point any clearer to you... When you look up this word for the definition on urban dictionary you get, "The woman who is in control. Confident and never looks down." This term is not used very often, and lately, when I do hear it used, it comes from the mouths of mostly men who are using the term in a very derogatory way. But I am here to state that our world today needs more women who will proudly step up and announce that they are lady bosses.

A lady boss does not just mean a CEO of a company and certainly does not mean a female who is too controlling or too demanding. The lady boss this world needs is a woman or women who are strong, independent, and are not afraid of letting the people and world around them know what they want, and that they are going to do whatever it takes to make that happen.

Anyone can be lady boss. Whether you are a freshman high school girl who doesn't seem to fit in, a college grad student trying to figure out where they are going in the next stage of their life, or just a woman who knows what she wants but is not quite sure how she wants to get there.

Our society today needs more women like this. Even if you are not ready to step up and announce to the world how strong and independent you are, that's okay. Know that you have a strong support system around you every day. But with everything going on right now from our rights being questioned, our feminine products being highly taxed, and men deciding what we can and cannot do with our bodies...don't you think that it is time to take a stand and make our own future happen the way we want it to?

Every woman on this earth knows exactly something in her future she wants to achieve, do, make, or even just be a part of. So why not go out and make it happen for yourself? Why do some individuals wait for things to happen for them when there is a whole world just waiting for you to grab it by the reins and make it the world you are ready to see?

Be proud of being a woman every day you wake up, and be proud of calling yourself a strong and confident lady boss. You have the power to change your world and you have the power to control your future to make it the one you want. Do not let anyone in our society belittle this title you have claimed for yourself or make you feel any less important than they are, just because of what sits between their legs and not yours.

Females are strong because females are the future.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
