Ladies, I think it is safe to say that all women have something they struggle with. Actually, I am one hundred percent sure of this.
As a young woman, I understand the body positivity struggle, or the deep down feeling of not knowing how others feel about you. I understand having a lack of confidence, and I understand being afraid to stand up for something you believe in. I understand feeling like you have to have the best grades in order to succeed, only to be let down by the score on your test yet again. I understand not feeling like you are enough to grab the attention of the cute guy in your English class (even though you have made yourself veryyyy noticable to him). I get it all. Most of the time these are the thoughts that consume us. We let thoughts like this eat at our core, cloud our minds, and take our focus off of God; but why do we let that happen?
If we know that God is our creator and that He loves us, why do we never remind ourselves of His love?
I, as much as the next girl, am tired of reading a cliché article entitled “Love Yourself” or “Be Positive about Your Looks,” but girls, it is true! God did not create an imperfect person. He made you in HIS image. What is not to love about that? God is so powerful and so mighty. He created you to be the same way! Satan wants to steal your joy, ladies (and gents too). He is out to attack anyone who proclaims to know God. Satan will destroy you with his accusations. All of the nasty thoughts you have about yourself when you look in the mirror are from the attacker! God does not place those thoughts in your mind. He loves you so much and created you for a purpose in this world. God sent His son so that He could defeat the enemy by dying on the cross and create an opportunity for everlasting life because He loves us so much!
Ladies, keep this as a reminder the next time you feel poorly about yourself; God is for you. He loves you and sees no flaw in you. It does not matter to God if you look like a fashion blogger or if you are wearing a paper bag. It does not matter to God if you attract every hunky football player at your school or if you never have guys talk to you. God does not care if you scored perfectly on your midterm exam or it you failed it. Stop letting the enemy win and let the Savior embrace you and remind you that YOU ARE LOVED.
“Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil.” Hebrews 2:14
