Labor Day- the last summer holiday; a day to spend with your friends or family, and make unforgettable memories doing some of your favorite things. Or maybe, this year, you’re looking to do something different than how you’ve spent Labor Day for the last seven years. Instead of feeling stuck doing the same thing every year, start making a new tradition. So what else is there to do for Labor Day this weekend?
Go to a local baseball game or visit the winery or brewery that you’ve always wanted to try. Get your friends and family together for an outdoors field day. Grab a football and volleyball, or some cones and a flag. Play sports or capture the flag.
For the lone wolf:
Find some crafts to start making for fall and winter. Check out the museum you’ve wanted to visit for a while now. Have a relaxation weekend. Catch up on your favorite shows and movies. The possibilities are endless.
For those with the travel bug:
Head down to the annual Labor Day Capitol Concert in Washington D.C, this is a free music event at the Kennedy Center. The National Symphony Orchestra will be presenting patriotic favorites. If music isn’t your thing, pack up and pick a national park and hit the road. There are an abundance of adventures to be had when surrounded by natural beauty.
For those looking for fun at home:
Have a family night of making a new cuisine. Dust off the old board games from under your bead and have a game night. Get the firewood out and have a last bonfire of the summer, with s’mores and mountain pies.
Summer holidays are always fun and full of adventures. Take advantage of the long weekend and treat yourself to do whatever feels right, and what will be most fun filled.
