Why I Think Kylie Jenner Is A Fake Person

Who is Kylie Jenner? I don't know.

Why I Think Kylie Jenner Is A Fake Person

Kylie Jenner has always been an interesting character in my mind. Being of the same age, I have always felt some type of connection with this member who is one of the media's most celebrated families. However, recently she's been doing a few things that is making this whole connection seem invalid or completely lost overall. In fact, I feel like no one can connect to her anymore. She does't seem real. Maybe I'm on to a new conspiracy theory or maybe I'm just crazy like people who think the world is going to end tomorrow, but here are my top reasons for why I think Kylie Jenner is a fake person:

1. Where did she come from?

A few years back, she was rarely seen in the popular, family-friendly TV show, "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," as well as the public eye. Now, she has a great deal of screen time, is seen in every tabloid, has her own beauty projects and is regarded as one of the most influential young women out there. What happened? Where did this "new" Kylie come from? I just remember the sweet, prepubescent little Kylie seen in two minutes an episode of her family's reality show. Now, she's a full-blown celebrity looking to take over the world.

2. No emotion for Kylie

Being an avid follower of her Snapchat, I see Kylie speak almost every day with absolute no tonal changes. So, she is extremely monotone. Even when she seems happy, her voice sounds like she just watched a Ken Burns documentary. There was one episode of "The Kardashians" where she cried yet, just wiped some invisible tears off of her solemn face. Is she a robot? When did they suck the personality out of this young girl?

3. A wig a day keeps the truth away

Every time the youngest Jenner posts on social media, she seems to be rocking a new do. On Monday, it's her signature dark brunette bob, on Tuesday, her hair is down to her butt, and by Wednesday, it's in dreads—which I don't think is too appropriate. Kylie seems to be changing her hairstyle every single day and I don't know why. Is it her creative juices flowing? Does she just hate her natural hair? Did she get a bad haircut? Also, what other secrets is she hiding in those wigs? Who knows.

4. Nothing but a problematic magazine cover

When Kylie Jenner appeared on Interview's cover in a wheelchair in late 2015, it no doubt sparked a large, angry discussion. As an able-bodied person, it was seen as highly problematic of her to be depicted in a wheelchair, glamorizing a handicap that many have to face every day. On the other hand, the problematic magazine cover worked to Kylie's advantage. It got her name out there once more: she was in the news, trending on Twitter and everyone was talking about it. She seems almost willing to go to any length for her fame. I don't think there'll be a sex tape in her future, though. Someone already did that.

As you can see, I find Kylie Jenner such a heightened individual that I don't think she's even real. I honestly cannot pinpoint when she became so huge. It just kind of happened one day. The young, thin-lipped Kylie was gone and in her place came the attention-hungry, contouring master we see today. So, is Kylie even the real, functional person who eats, goes to the bathroom, and has human organs that I am hoping she is? That answer, my friends, I am afraid will be never be clear.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
