KY 2024 in Owsley County is reopening following major flood damage

The KY 2024 from Owsley County was closed for quite some time at its 2.6 mile point because there was flash flood damage to the Indian creek bridge and roadway. The damage was so severe that they were forced to stop everyone from staying on the road, and the idea was a very good one, because it’s crucial to keep everyone safe.

What’s important to note is that the Transportation Cabinet team were evaluating the damage and what repairs they could do in order to make it easier for people to at least pass the road. Of course, that would be just a temporary fix, a complete repair would arrive down the road. The plan is to create a low water crossing, but until that’s possible, the road stays closed.

The important thing to note is that the location where this was closed is just near the Grassy branch Road. It’s in the Ricetown community, and around 175 cars are using this road every day. The problem is that there are no alternative route, so obviously the focus here is to restore access as quickly as possible.

However, on January 13th the KY 2024 reopened after 2 weeks of flash flood damage. The news comes from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, and it was expected for quite some time by people that were using that road every day.

In order to deal with this issue, they provided a low water crossing, the permanent repairs are still something that will take place in the future. Since the low water crossing is a temporary solution, drivers are required to use a lot of caution and really low speeds at this location. The thing to note here is that heavy rain might lead to flooding, so there are a variety of potential problems that might appear here, which is something to keep in mind.

It’s very hard to know when the permanent repairs will take place, but residents hope this will happen sooner rather than later. The temporary solution is very prone to damage if powerful rain comes back.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
