Kennesaw State University Football: Game One

The wait is finally over! Tonight was the night and everyone was streaming the game live. There are watch parties on campus, off campus, and each time we score, you can hear the entire apartment complex go CRAZY! This is Kennesaw State University's first ever football game and we killed it. Who were the victims? ETSU. Game score? 56-16.

1st Quarter

Starting off the game ETSU received the ball. Getting a field goal at 6:12 in the 1st. But then, Trey White's 7yd run gets a TOUCHDOWN for the owls! Trey White just made history! Score is 7-3.

PAUSE: Can I just take a moment to talk about the commenters? First, they couldn't say our school's name correctly. We got every name besides Kennesaw; Kennesas, Kenne State, Kensas, Khenne-shal, Khennse State... and the list goes on. Two, it's my theory that they found two dads who coach rec football to come commentate the game; "Crackpot" instead of "Crack Block", talking about their text messages, not knowing their mics are on, and still deciding to talk bad about KSU Football when the scoreboard shows differently. RANT OVER.

2nd Quarter

Owls hold them, and ETSU can only get another Field Goal. 7-6 at at 12:50 in the second half. Owls turnover and the Bucs then take the lead with a 12yd Touchdown. Making it 13-7, Bucks at 6:42 in the second half. Next possession, KSU had to punt. ETSU's ball on their 29. ETSU can't complete, punts and KSU gets the the ball on ESTU's 42! Trey White gets his 2nd Touchdown of the night, making it 14-13 KSU. When it couldn't get any better, with virtually no time left, Nick Perrotta gets the interception AND touchdown! GO KSU! Halftime is here. Owls lead 21-13.

3rd Quarter

Kennesaw keeps it moving. Touchdown Owls! 28-13. ETSU now has possession, but Kennesaw holds them off. ETSU punts to KSU's 26. Jae Bowen gets the ball and takes it into the end zone. Touchdown Owls, 34-13. In the last 2:43, The Owls have 21 unanswered points on the board. The kick is good! 35-13, Kennesaw with 5:23 left. ETSU with the possession and again, nothing. KSU ball and then comes Darnell Holland. A spectacular 63yd run with a CRAZY HURDLE. #HollandForHeisman. Jae Bowen finishes it off, getting The Owls another Touchdown. That makes the score 41-13 with 3:36 left in the third. Kick is good, and The Owls have 42 points on the board

4th Quarter

At this point, we're starting to feel bad for ETSU. There's no coming back from this. But KSU keeps making moves. Trey Shivers runs it in for a Touchdown, giving KSU a 36 point lead at 49-13. Kennesaw holds of ETSU. But on KSU's next possession Jake McKenzie scores and the kick is good! Owl's keep their lead 56-13. ESTU manages to get a field goal making the final score 56-16. That's game.

Once the game was done and the final score was announced, Stadium Village went crazy! Everyone was on their balconies singing the fight song, hooting, hollering and running around. You could hear people at Upointe celebrating. Yik Yak was explosive! In less words, football has brought KSU together more than anyone has thought. Needless to say, Welcome to Owl Country. It's going to be a GREAT season.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
