This summer, I had the opportunity to travel to Jeonju, South Korea for to study Korean for 7 weeks. Having known only basics of Korean culture before I left the States, I was astounded by the richness of the culture, the beauty of the landscape and the sheer presentation of the Korean people. Through a series of photographs, I managed to capture only a fragment of my experience, one dusted with memories that I will never forget. From Buddist temples to traditional Hanboks, Jeonju exceeded my expectations on numerous levels, all thanks to the NSLI-Y program.

Hiking in 95 degree weather may not sound ideal, but standing atop the cliff overlooking Hahoe Village, one of the oldest communities in Korea, I know realize what it really has to offer.
