Every friend group has that one friend who takes care of everyone and everything. Or in other words, the mom friend, and to be honest, every group needs one, but how do you know who it is? If it's you, you may find yourself doing a few of these things...
1. You're the one everyone goes to for advice
Even though you may not be qualified to be giving any advice regarding school or life choices, you're the first one your friends turn to when facing a decision, no matter how serious. And they can always count on it being good advice.
2. You find yourself constantly saying 'I told you so'
Just because your friends come to you for advice doesn't mean they listened. When it turns out you were right about the new guy they've just met or when their next assignment was due, you have no choice but to remind them they need to listen to you more often.
3. You're always ready for a good pep talk.
Everyone needs an occasional self-esteem boost, and you're the perfect person for that. However, you are also there to give a reality check when need be.
4. You take care of everyone when you go out.
You're the designated driver, the keeper of all purses and wallets, the watcher of alcohol consumption, and the one who walks the friend who has had one too many home. It's a tough job, and sometimes a little annoying, but someone must do it, and it's normally you.
5. You send out 'be safe' reminders
Some days you choose to avoid going out on the town to give yourself a break from playing mom, but even then, you still find yourself texting your friends to make sure they got to the party safe, and then again to make sure they got to their dorm/apartment safe.
6. You know everything that's going on in their lives
Maybe it's because you're nosy and want to know everything, maybe it's because they come to you with their problems, or maybe you just know when something is up. Either way, you somehow always know something is happening, sometimes even before they know.
7. You help with their schoolwork
You may find yourself reminding your friends of upcoming projects and tests that they have forgotten about or have put off until the last minute, and then you'll find yourself helping them out with said projects and tests.
8. You don't know what you'd do without them
You know your alcohol limit, you know what your best options are, and you don't need any reminders to be safe; all in all, you're a pretty independent person, but that doesn't mean you don't need a good group of friends surrounding you. You may be there for advice and a good shoulder to cry on, but they will always return the favor when you need them.
