You Know Your Dog Is Your Best Friend When...

Dogs have become the main household pet for many families. They are there during our best times and our worst. They watch us grow up and vice versa. They love us unconditionally and they undoubtedly go from being just a dog to a member of the family.

Some people are naturally more attached to their dogs than others and all of those dog lovers can relate to these 10 things that we do for our furry babies.

1. You have full on conversations with them. Many of us are guilty of talking to our dogs. We even give them a voice and accent so they can manage talking back to us...and they conveniently say whatever we want them to say, making us love them even more.

2. You only sleep on 10% of your bed. This is because you let your dog take up 90 percent of the bed because, where else would they sleep? The ground?! They need their beauty sleep too!

3. You give them their own stocking during Christmas. Christmas consists of joy and happiness that you share with your family, and you want to share that joy with your dog as well. Its not only fun seeing your family's reaction to their new gifts, but also your dog's reaction to their new toys.

4. You skip going out because you just want to hangout with them. Some nights, you may be getting ready to go out and drop everything just to stay home with your dog. Staying home and scratching them all night just sounds more appealing than hanging out with your frat bros who don't love you like your dog does.

5. You take them with you anywhere you can. Everywhere you go you wonder, can I take my dog? Whether it be a friends house or a dog friendly restaurant patio, you just don't want to leave your little one behind.

6. You keep their pictures on hand so you can show your friends. You're like those grandparents who keep their grandchildren's pictures in their wallet so they can brag to all their friends. Although in reality, your friends don't really care because they don't know your dog like you do.

7. You throw them a birthday party. Your dog's day of birth is worth celebrating, too! You drive all around town trying to find cake, cookies, or ice cream made just for dogs to celebrate yet another year consisting of naps and playing fetch.

8. You let them lick your plate. You're done with your dinner and you've got a few scraps on your plate. Why be wasteful and throw it in the garbage when your dog is staring up at you with those big, begging eyes?

9. You aspire to be a better person for your dog. Some of us decide to make, or not make decisions based on the effect it will have on our dog. They depend purely on us, and we just want to make them proud that we are their owner.

10. They inspire you to write an article about them! Your heart is filled with so much love for your dog that you have to let it out somehow!

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate.
