Learning a new language is not something to be taken lightly. It takes years of studying through books, videos, poems, and whatever else you can get your hands on. And, if your lucky, you may even get a chance to study abroad in Japan, China, or even Spain! Despite all the years of hard work you may put into studying another language, you may never fully be able to grasp the language. However, if you do manage to master a language there are many doors that will open up to you. So what could you do by learning another language?
Interpreter: Being an interpreter could mean going to events such as concerts and school assemblies, or you could use your gifts for other purposes such as court rooms, hospitals, or even police forces.
Teacher: If you are very passionate about the language that you have learned, then you could teach it to other people. You could teach middle school, high school, or even college if you set your mind to it. You have the opportunity to share your love of the language with others.
Flight Attendant: This may not sound like a glamorous job but can be very rewarding. You get to interact with people from all around the world and even travel!
Subtitles and Voice-Overs: This is one of the jobs that you may consider when learning Japanese. Many of the anime that we watch today are voiced over or, at the very least, subtitled for those of us that can't speak Japanese. But it's not just anime or things in Japanese that need to be translated. You could do movies, television shows, or even documentaries in any language.
Medical Field: There are many jobs within the medical field that could use bilingual individuals such as a nurse, doctor, nurses aid, or even an EMT.
With so many different opportunities and job titles, why wouldn't you learn another language?
