I get it. I'm a bit eccentric -- even my family and business associates are the only ones that call me by my real name.
Okay, the story of the names! In high school I was Nelsen, Nelly, or "full-Nelsen" (like the wrestling move), and my little brother was half-Nelsen (he was, literally, half my size). Here in college, I earned the nickname, Noodle, or Noods for short from, let's just say, a fun night.
To the basics! I am from Lizella, Ga, which is actually Macon, but I like to think we have our own thing going on. I have also spent my entire two years of college thus far at Georgia Southern with a major in business management, and hope to have my own small business some day. Lastly, I am highly involved with Greek life as a brother of Delta Chi.
On to the facts!
- At the age of ten, I got my first car -- a 1954 Studebaker. The only hitch was that I had to build it myself. When I say that I mean I had to completely rebuild the car! Okay, it has no A/C, stereo, power steering, real paint, or even working windshield wipers.
- I seldom listen to music recorded after 1990, and when I do it is something that is about as likely to get on the radio as pigs are to fly.
- There is not much I haven't done under the hood of a car. I have five years experience as a professional mechanic.
- I also have a homing signal for the water. Growing up near Lake Tobesofkee meant that a daily dip was the doctor's orders. I have spent the summers of 2013 and 2014 lifeguarding on that same lake, as well.
- I participated in an organization called Civil Air Patrol as a teen. It is like JROTC for the Air Force, but much better; it's the auxiliary of the Air Force. I actually got to fly an airplane through these guys, and it was free!
- Portraits are hit or miss. Most of the time my smile looks half-developed, I can only smile in real life, not in some silly picture.
- Lastly, I am a drop everything and adventure kind of person (after I finish my homework). If I have never done it, and ya'll are going, you don't even need to ask. I'm already there! Seriously, try new things. New ideas make the world go round; it made the colonies into the United States in more ways than one.
