If you've ever read the first of the Harry Potter books, you've probably heard the term "Knickerbocker Glory." However, you likely had no idea what kind of treat this British confection was. Actually, it's an ice cream parfait sometimes layered with peaches, raspberries, strawberry syrup, and quite a lot of vanilla ice cream. It's topped with whipped cream, a cherry, and sometimes nuts or hundreds and thousands (British way of saying sprinkles since there are usually 'hundreds and thousands' of these tiny candy toppings in the shakers)! If this tantalizing treat is making your tongue swirl around your lips and your eyes light up, here are two haiku poems describing this indulgence:
Cone-shaped glass of bliss
Fruity and creamy goodness
Scooped up with a spoon.
Peaches and berries
Or Jell-O, cake, and syrup
However you like.
(This second one is based on the fact that there are really no rules set in stone of how to make a knickerbocker glory. The description given at the beginning is just an example)!
