I'm A Klutz And I'm Proud

Being clumsy isn't a bad thing, but it can have it's downfalls (quite literally).

I've come to the conclusion that you should fully embrace your uncoordinated self. However, if you aren't sure whether you're a true klutz or not, here are 11 signs you might be.

1. You’re The Friend In The Group Who Is Most Likely To Get Hurt

When your friends are talking about doing an activity that might involve the possibility of falling, getting injured, or taking an ER trip heads automatically turn towards you.

2. You Use The Phrase “I’m Fine” Like It's A Reflex

This is your natural response to "are you okay?" But really, you're so tired of being the one who's hurt that you actually deny the fact that you're not fine.

3. Being Injured Is Second Nature

You've had your fair share of injuries, but at this point, you're used to it. You can walk with crutches like a boss, write with your non-writing hand, or drive with one good arm. It's all in a day's work.

4. You Have A High Pain Tolerance

One of the pros to being a klutz is having the capability to wipe out on a set of stairs and act like it's no big deal. What a talent!

5. Falling Is One Of Your Specialties

Just admit it, you’ve managed to trip while standing. Not walking. Just standing. Half of the time you don't even fall, it's just a slow dramatic almost-fall.

6. You're Known As "The Dropper"

It's almost better if you just let it drop because it ends up being much worse when you try and save it.

7. You Almost Always Look Like You've Just Walked Out Of A Fight

You always have fresh bruises or scars on your legs and arms. Most of the time, you can't remember how you got them.

8. You’ve Been Asked By A Complete Stranger If You Feel Safe At Home

You've probably gotten the occasional concerned stranger asking you if you're okay. Your response, "No, I'm not okay. I suffer from a form of klutziness that occasionally causes mild to serious injury. But, I am very thankful to say that I feel safe at home, thank you."

9. Gracefulness Is An Unknown Concept To You

How do ballerinas do it? They have more grace in their lil pinky finger than you do in your whole body. But it's okay, because you can be on the same awkward level as Taylor Swift.

10. Your Friends Enjoy Your Company For Comic Relief

Your friends can expect some sort of comic relief from your clumsiness, so they keep you around. And although you slightly resent that, you accept it and then embrace it. And by it, I mean the ground.

11. People Probably Think You're Drunk When You’re Completely Sober

Sometimes your body simply can't cope with your energy level and thus plummets to the ground with the slightest bit of excitement. I'm not going to lie, I am slightly concerned that if I ever get pulled over and have to walk in a straight line I won't be able to do it without falling over.

I'm A Klutz And I'm Proud

If you can relate to at least a few of these, congratulations, you've earned the title of klutz. People will only judge you if you don't own it. Or maybe they will judge you regardless, but at least you'll be too focussed on being your awesome self to care what they think. Trust me, life is better when you embrace your awkwardness. Just look at Taylor Swift. If she can do it, so can you.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
