King's Kaleidoscope is a band of wonder, they have a sound like no other, and honestly they have become one of my favorite Christian artists to listen to. They are a band of 10 members that make sounds that will blow you away.
Need I say more? I will just because.
The reason I enjoy them so much isn’t the fact that they merely sound good, but they make traditional hymns sound amazing in a contemporary manner while also producing modern hymns at the same time.
They are breaking down the barriers between contemporary and traditional music one song of at a time and it couldn’t be any greater for the Christian music industry.
Their sound is unlike anything else that is out there; even if they are re-creating a hymn, they are doing in a unique way.
Their versions of "Come Thou Fount," "How Deep The Father’s Love" and "Be Thou My Vision" are as unique and creative sounding as anyone could possibly make a hymn sound.
If that isn’t bringing traditional and contemporary together, I really don’t know what is. As I’ve written before, church worship has become the battleground of the contemporary music lovers and the traditionalists.
King's Kaleidoscope is here to save the day, ladies and gentlemen.
Their original music is just as good as their modernized hymns, and I am not joking. Their latest EP "Live In Focus" has a plethora of amazing music.
Some of their best originals, are "Felix Culpa, Defender," and "I Know." Seriously listen to those songs for yourself, you will be impressed by them.
Then we get to their original album from all the way back in 2011, named simply, "Sin." The entire album is full of powerful music, including "What Have We Done?" A song with lyrics that will give you goosebumps and will make you re-evaluate your faith.
In that song, lead singer Chad Gardner says: "Judas sold you for thirty, I’d have done it for less.”
Through those lines, it shows how we are all sinners and fallen short of the love of Christ. That, however, is a different article to be written, but it shows the impact King's Kaleidoscope can make in just a few lines.
Here is a cool fact for you, they recorded an entire EP, "Live In Color," inside of a middle school near their hometown of Seattle, Washington. Now that is innovation.
Just give them a listen. You will be impressed. And, hey, if it is not your style of music, I get it! I just want to make sure that they are getting heard, because their music is a beautiful harmony that is sure to please both the hymn lovers and contemporary seekers.
In the end, they are singing praises to our great and wonderful God, and that is the best part of the elegant sound that they create. Check them out!
