The Kindness Experiment

You never know what someone is going through in a day and how much you could bless them by that random act of kindness.

The Kindness Experiment

While scrolling through Facebook I stumbled upon a video that was very moving. One person just wanted to do just one nice thing for someone else that day. By the reactions that the people gave him it is not something that is done nearly enough anymore. Most of the reactions that he got were skepticism and suspicion. To a certain extent, this is understandable, we no longer live in a world that random acts of kindness are done without ulterior motives. The world is unfortunately a dangerous place and it is understandable that people would be less trusting. However, that should not stop us from being kind ourselves.

Sometimes people's responses were more positive and they were moved, or very grateful for what was done for them. You never know what someone is going through in a day and how much you could bless them by that random act of kindness. In the Bible we are called to be kind; Ephesians 4:32- Be kind one to another tenderhearted forgiving one another as God in Christ forgave you. Kindness can make this world better when we serve each other. It may be met with skepticism and suspicion, but we should not stop trying to be kind. So step out of your comfort zone and be kind. People won't expect it and you have an opportunity to make a difference in someone's life. Try and help fix the skepticism with random kindness. Maybe one day people will no longer be suspicious of kindness.

Here is the mentioned video.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
