Kim Kardashian has one of the most recognizable faces in the world with close to eighty-five million followers on Instagram and a cult-like following on Snapchat. The reality star was unfortunately robbed at gunpoint of $11 million worth of jewelry on October 3rd and these heinous actions are having the "Selfish" author rethink her entire way of life.

Pick up any magazine in the nation and there is bound to be some form of story about Kim and the rest of the Kardashian clan, who was catapulted into fame after the inception of their hit reality series aired on E! in 2007. Since then Kim has been married twice, had two children with husband Kanye West and made hundreds of millions of dollars, all while putting herself under the ever-watching public eye.

On Monday October 3rd while Kim was alone in her Hotel de Pourtales suite five men dressed as police officers barged in and demanded the concierge to tell them, “where the wife of the rapper was.” After tying up the concierge the assailants forced their way into Kim’s private apartment where they proceeded to tie her up at gunpoint and keep her in a bathtub while they stole millions worth of jewelry. While the robbery was taking place the concierge, who was detained in the bathtub with her, said that Kim was begging for her life for the sake of her two young children. When the thieves left with the jewels Kardashian managed to wiggle her hands free then proceed to scream for help from the balcony of the apartment. Among the jewelry stolen was her 20-carat Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring.

In the aftermath of the robbery Kardashian has returned to LA to be with her husband and two children while she recovers from this very scary ordeal.

Social media however has taken this opportunity to make “jokes” and “funny” memes while conveniently forgetting that like us Kim Kardashian is a human being. Other celebrities such as James Corden and Chrissy Teigen have taken to social media to express their feelings about these ridiculously insensitive comments reminding everyone that celebrities are people with loved ones just like us.

These recent events have sparked Kim to rethink the spotlight all together even going as far to postponing the filming of “Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s.” Kim is the first one to blame herself for her robbery siting that her constant social media presence and flashiness contributed to her being a target. Karl Lagerfeld, creative director of Chanel, also spoke out saying that, “(Kim is) too public, too public — we have to see in what time we live. You cannot display your wealth then be surprised that some people wants to share it.”

No matter what you may think of Kim Kardashian we all must agree that what happened to her is a tragedy and hope that her emotional wounds heal quickly.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
