This past Sunday was just an average day in the world, until the Queen Kardashian herself dropped the juiciest video of 2016. On her Snapchat, she posted footage of a phone conversation between her husband, Kanye West, and pop singer Taylor Swift. In this video, Kanye was telling Taylor about a line he wanted to include in his song “Famous” on his new album Life of Pablo. The line was “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex, I made that bitch famous” and he was asking her approval for the line as a courtesy to her, because he wanted to maintain a friendly relationship. According to the video, she gave him creative freedom to put in the song whatever he wanted, and she expressed how nice it was that he was telling her about this line.
After the song came out, many people were angry. Most people thought that Kanye was being blatantly disrespectful to Taylor, and that he was just being the typical Kanye that everyone knows. However, in a recent interview with GQ Magazine, Kim K revealed that there was video evidence of Taylor approving the lyric (because Kanye records everything while he’s working on albums), and called Taylor a “liar and a manipulator.” This blew up, and everyone wanted to see this video, so Kim gave the people what they wanted.
Since this video has surfaced, people are taking sides in this all out social media war. While she didn’t explicitly say who she was referring to, T. Swift’s bestie Selena Gomez tweeted:
While on the other side, the Kardashians have come together once again to defend one of their own. During this week’s episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Chloe Grace Moretz tweeted this:
To which Khloe Kardashian replied with a photo of Moretz in a red bikini top, and another with a similar looking girl whose bottoms are pulled to the side, exposing her with the caption “Is this the hole you’re talking about?”
Through all of this drama, Taylor has called this issue “character assassination” and is playing the victim once again. This character assassination is something that isn’t new in Taylor’s world, especially considering it’s something that she has done herself, like the time she posted ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas’s breakup voicemail on YouTube. Or more recently when she humiliated Calvin Harris after he denied her involvement in his new song “This Is What You Came For,” even though she didn’t want anyone to know that she co-wrote the song. This isn’t even considering all of the other times that she’s played the victim in all her breakup songs.
Maybe Kim is right on this one, Taylor doesn’t seem to be as honest and sweet as she tries to seem.
