Sarah Linden

Sarah Linden( Mireille Enos) is a homicide detective with the Seattle Police Department and she has a young son, Jack Linden( Liam James.) She has a history of “mental illness” because of how wrapped she get in solving her cases. She often goes days without eating, sleeping, just smoking and working on cases. She gets emotionally interlocked with the victims of her cases which leads her to either go further off the deep end, solve the case or both.

Stephen Holder

Stephen Holder (Joel Kinnaman) is a former NARC uncover agent transferred to the homicide department of the Seattle Police Department. He is gets paired with Sarah Linden who is used to working solo and not training a new officer.

Linden-Holder Relationship

In the beginning, all Detective Linden wanted to do was to wrap up her time in Seattle and leave without having to babysit a new guy. Unfortunately, luck was not on her side when she gets paired with the new guy who does not have her eye for details. From the beginning, they had a witty sarcastic vibe which makes the show more interesting. Along with the fact that you never know what both of them will do next-- from working overtime on a case to barging into a suspect's house with no warrant because they cannot wait any longer.

The Murders

The killings are what keeps the show interesting. In the first and second season we follow the death of Rosie Larsen (Katie Findlay), a teenage girl, who seems normal on the surface but whose life we dive into and ripped which rids her of any normacy.

The next season follows the murders of street girls who range from the ages 12 to 16. The whole season follows their death trying to find out who were killing all of these girls which turned out to be over two dozen bodies.

The final season, follow the massacre of a wealthy family whose son was the only survivor. The story takes place around an elite military school for young men. Upon returning home, a young man and his whole family got shot because he survived people connected him to the shooting and he became the number one suspect for the murder of his family. Did he do it?

Who’s The Killer

While watching the killing you will expect one person to the killer and will most often be wrong. The way the storyline unfolds seems to paint a different person as the killer in almost each episode. Halfway through the episode, you will be convinced they are the killer and in the last seconds have the opposite proven. By the last episode, you will be shocked by who the real killer is-- often the last person you would think it is. This adds mystery and the audience to continue to watch to see how the murder unfold. If you love Criminal Minds, Law & Order or any other detective show, you will love The Killing( this show can be found on Netflix or AMC.)

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours.
