The hit single "Kill 'Em With Kindness" by Selena Gomez that is stating to stop the fighting is something that people often overlook. In today's society, it's easier to not care. It's easier to not fight for what and who you want, and it's easier to treat people like shit. But why?
Why is it so easy to tear people down and point out every single flaw, rather than taking a moment to understand what they are going through and try and help?
Let's say you see someone walking down the street and it is pretty evident that they have scars from cutting on their wrists. Do you walk by and say, "Wow, that girl/guy is so disgusting. Look at what they did to themselves." OR do you say, "Oh my gosh, that girl/guy must be so strong for even getting out of bed this morning and going outside. Good for them!"
I sure hope it's the second one...
How is it okay to live in a world where everything we do is judged? How if you're not a size zero and perfectly fit, then you're considered fat? If you don't get an A in one class, you're stupid? The fact that people believe that because you have a mental illness you're weak and damaged?
THEY ARE ALL WRONG! IT SHOULDN'T BE LIKE THIS!
All of this needs to stop, people of today's world need to open their eyes. Starting a war isn't going to solve the problem, it's going to kill everyone. So learn to be smarter, learn to care about other people and value life.
Please tell me if you're reading this you get it. This world is harsh and cruel, but it isn't necessarily the planet we live on, it's the people that are on the planet. What is the point of being cruel?
So instead of doing that, be kind. In fact, kill everyone with kindness because then we might finally get the point across that words hurt. The truth is, you will never know someone's back story until you sit down and talk to them. So why don't you try doing that instead of making fun of their torn up clothes, because their family can't afford to buy new ones.
You may think you know them, but you don't know their story. You don't know the obstacles that they've overcome to get to the point where they are at. James 1:12 states, "Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him."
Can it truly come down to society overcoming adversity and making a change? Will we finally have peace between everybody?
Now that is up to you, each and every one of you. So choose wisely, or this could be the end of the human race.
