I know I'm not the only one who didn't do so hot on the first, or maybe second and third exams this semester. But I am without a doubt determined to pass all my classes with the grades that I must achieve. And you will too, trust me, we got this!
This past semester seemed to fly by with the amount of work that was always due and the tests that needed to be studied for. But it's finals time ladies and gentlemen, and it's time to get down and dirty with your study habits and really evaluate yourself.
I, for one, hate reading my text books; I pretty much don't ever do it unless it's absolutely necessary (rarely ever). But I started doing this on my past two tests for some of my classes after the lecture and it has helped so much more. It reminds you what the professor taught in class (if you paid attention), and will help your memory more.
Answering the questions in the back of your book also helps because it asks the key questions from each chapter, which is most likely always on the test. Also, bonus if you already did them for your studying benefit and then the professor assigns them for extra credit, you're already done and BOMB extra points on top of your great test score.
If you print off the power points or study guides from your lectures, it will help if you try to go back through and fill in any information you remember. Try to write down definitions and analyze theories without looking at your notes. This means you really know your stuff and you're ready for that final. Plus, you'll remember it after writing so much down.
If you can, try explaining a concept to a friend or family member and if you can explain it to where they understand it, then you have grasped it as well!
It's time that we start destroying those finals and show them and the professor what's up. Yeah, I may have made bad grades on my other tests, but I am determined.
I will pass.
I will succeed.
And don't try to take me down.
