We all know comedian Seth Rogen for his hysterical performances in "Superbad," "Knocked Up" and the "Neighbors" movies, but what most people don’t know is that in 2012, Rogen, his wife, actress and screenwriter Lauren Miller Rogen, along with some their closest friends, founded Hilarity for Charity (HFC). HFC’s goal is to inspire change and raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease amongst the millennial generation. They also created the Hilarity for Charity Fund, which raises money to donate to struggling families, increase the number of Alzheimer support groups, and advance innovative research. HFC hosts two annual Variety Shows in both New York City and Los Angeles, which feature the many talents of musicians, comedians and more! Since its inception, Hilarity for Charity has raised over $6.5 million.
After the development of Hilarity for Charity, the team created a nationwide program called HFC U, which encourages and supports college students to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s disease. Much like HFC’s acclaimed Variety Shows, the program encourages students to throw their own Hilarity for Charity events. To date, the HFC U program has raised over $250,000.
As a college student, you have the opportunity to win a campus visit and a special surprise from Seth and Lauren Miller Rogen IF you take the initiative and join HFC U. In prior years, Rogen has shown students some of his never before seen projects and brought other celebrity guests with him to the universities who have won the annual HFC U contest. Students should note that there are some awesome prizes for those who take part in this year’s contest, including a free pair of HFC U SKICKs, subscriptions to Edoughable, Rivet Revolution bracelets, a Kawaski z125 Pro (for one lucky winner) and more! This year’s youth charity, Positive Tracks, will double every dollar raised by team members up to $23 and every dollar raised by team captains up to $230!
The contest takes place from February 1, 2017 – April 9, 2017. Even though the contest has already begun, students are still eligible to enter and join in on the fun! Don't miss out on the opportunity to crack jokes with Seth Rogen, while raising money and growing support for an amazing cause! Students can sign up for the contest at www.crowdrise.com/hfcu.
