1. Look for the good

You may be so far down that you thinks nothing is worth it anymore, but if you look for the good in things you'll realize that if you're so far down all you can do is go up. Life is a wonderful thing when you see the good. Don't be so negative about things. There's always some good, you just need to get out there and find it.

2. Live life with an open mind

Things aren't always as they appear; don't base a decision solely on what you see. Clearing your mind allows you to see things you didn't ever see before. With an open mind, you can let go of the negative control in your life and experience new changes. It helps you understand your mistakes and strengthen yourself from them.

3. Invest time in yourself

Investing time into yourself and who you are isn't only beneficial to you. When you invest time into yourself it reflects on others, making them want to do the same. Without giving yourself time to breathe you may become overwhelmed and stressed, but with time to yourself, you can clear your mind and really take the time to think about what's important.

4. Keep yourself healthy

Not only does this benefit your immune system but it benefits your mind. Being healthy improves your mood, longevity, and energy.

5. Set goals and morals for yourself

Setting goals and morals helps give you clarity in your decision making, peace in the mind, helps set barriers, helps keep you focused and helps you manage your time. Goals and morals all help give you a stress-free positive life.

6. Be kind to all

Whether you recognize it or not, kindness makes you happier. It makes you feel better. Many times you may not even realize what being kind does to you, but it can help take your stress and worries away. Kindness could potentially be your key to success.

7. Be thankful

When you are thankful there are changes in you emotionally, socially, in your health, personality and even possibly in your career. You become more relaxed, more resilient, and feeling better. Thankfulness could help a marriage/relationship by showing what you mean to each other. Your productivity and decision making may increase positively, and you yourself may become more optimistic and spiritual. Being thankful overall has an amazing outcome.

8. Have a positive mindset

When your positive, good things will come your way, If you think positive regularly, imagine what good things could come your way! As you think positively you will start to realize the good and bad things in your life, you will see yourself try to start to accept the bad and fix it.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
