Now that I have officially been staying on a college campus for a week and school has started, I know that it is time for me to buckle down. For all my college students, it is time for us to realize the importance of setting goals especially since you are paying to do so. Goals are simply coming up with a plan for your life and trying your best to achieve everything you have planned for yourself. It doesn’t hurt to dream because what you dream may actually come true if you stay persistent and keep God first. Sometimes things may not go as planned, but that is only preparing you for your future. Nothing great comes easy. Remember to set daily, monthly, and long-term goals, and dreams. Don’t ever be afraid to dream too big. Nothing is impossible. If you believe in yourself, you can achieve it. Wake up each morning wondering what you can do today that you didn’t do yesterday to accomplish your goal. Write down your short and long term goals to keep track and remember why you chose those goals. Break your goal down because each small move or big move can push you to your final goal. Keep going whether it gets rough or difficult. If it’s worth it, you will persevere. Be sure to take in criticism from people that want to see you succeed. Not everyone has your best interest at heart, so be sure to just keep your distance from those people. Separate what’s important from things that can cause a distraction from your goal. The sooner you realize that everything doesn’t need the same attention can help bring your goal to reality. Remember to keep God first in all you do and He will lead you to all your many accomplishments.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
