It seems modeling just isn't enough to keep a girl busy these days. And maybe it could never be wholly satisfying for a girl who became a household name just for having the right set of older sisters. Not only can Vogue-declared Supermodel Kendall Jenner be seen on stories-high Calvin Klein billboards, walking the Chanel couture shows, partying with the Balmain army and selfie-ing backstage at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Her status as a millennial celebrity, thanks to her impressive follower count, and her familial privilege have helped Jenner become a true mogul, with a toe dipped in a handful of different industries.
When she isn't walking the catwalk or posing for Karl Lagerfeld or Mario Testino, Jenner is busy promoting her other ventures, most of which she heads as a tag team with younger sister Kylie Jenner. These include clothing and footwear lines with Steve Madden, TopShop, Nordstrom, and PacSun, a Kendall & Kylie mobile game in the style of older sister Kim Kardashian-West, a co-authored young adult novel expecting a sequel this fall, and her own self-named app that shares premium insider Kendall content. When your family has been making millions by being themselves for years, it seems easy to be able to grow your identity brand in new and exciting ways almost daily.
Part of Jenner's brand success has always come from the fact that she gives her followers and fans inside access to her A-list lifestyle, using silly Instagram captions and Snapchat videos to make hanging out with her best friends while wearing custom Balmain or vintage Hermes seem as normal as when you and your friends do it in PINK sweats and matching Forever21 dresses. The need to keep all 61.8 million Instagram followers as in-the-know and entertained as possible has clearly made Jenner adapt at capturing moments, and over time she has even shared more professional-style photos of friends and family. This, combined with her time spent in front of the camera, seems to have been a winning combination.
Jenner shared via Snapchat that she would not only be featured in the next issue of LOVE Magazine as a model, but also a photographer. Jenner shot a multi-page spread for the magazine's "American Beauties" segment, collaborating with famed Supermodel Cindy Crawford on photo's of Crawford's 14-year-old model daughter, Kaia Gerber.
Jenner is not the first model to step behind the camera--Victoria's Secret Angel Behati Prinsloo has shared her photography for years--but fashion photographer is an exciting new moniker to add to her already impressive list of part-time jobs. While millions are fans and followers, seemingly equally large numbers are wishing for the day when Jenner's, and perhaps her entire family's, star will fade. But, with more and more opportunities arising daily, it seems Miss Jenner is here to stay.
