Keeping Up With The Watermelons: Season 1 Review
Kaetlin Lamberson

Season 1 of Keeping Up with the Watermelons has officially been filmed and premiered on Snapchat. In recap, Keeping Up with the Watermelon is a mini Snapchat reality series that follows the ever present drama with three roommates at Southeast Missouri State University. Kaetlin Lamberson is a psychic, Margaret Schauwecker worshiped a leaf, and Hannah Misenheimer never stops rolling her eyes.

The drama has yet to slow down. Schauwecker almost got "married", but then dumped the guy after not inviting Misenheimer, and Misenheimer said she was not thankful for Schauwecker at Thanksgiving time. There was also a more lighter epsiode that took place during Fall For Dance 2016 at the River Campus. As all three students are dancers, they were fixing their hair and makeup while jamming out. One lyric flub turned into every dancer and some faculty to give their opinions on what the true lyrics were. But lo and beyond, Kaetlin the psychic struck again by revealing the true line of the song by the end.

However, the drama really unfolded in the season finale. Filmed in two parts, we find out Schauwecker was accused of murder. When taken into the "police station," she blamed a lot of her antics and behaviors towards Misenheimer on "the Watermelons," which she never spoke aloud, only mouthing it towards the camera. In the second part, we knew we were in trouble with Kaetlin's psychic powers weren't strong enough for the situation. Taken place in a "court room," Schauwecker and Misenheimer are fighting against each other on a murder conviction. Both "lawyers" questioned each girl's antics throughout the season, and the producer even added in flashbacks from the season to refresh our memories.

But the real problem comes up with a Misenheimer look-a-like stumbles into court, yelling that the girl who was currently on the stand wasn't who she said she was! Did anyone see that coming?!

Then we find out that another person was killed, not just one, and the second victim was possibly Schauwecker's potential husband!!!

Since the conclusion of the season, I can hypothesize that Misenheimer will end up being convicted of the murders, it sounded like she essentially confessed to it. But which Misenheimer was the culprit?

There are too many questions that needed to be answered that wasn't answered since mid-season. We still don't know why Kaetlin is psychic, and we don't know why Misenheimer and Schauwecker hate each other (though it might have something to do with a jealousy issue concerning Schauwecker's fiance). But now more questions have been added to the mix. What's the story between these two Misenheimers? What will be the official outcome of the trial? Are we ever going to get any backstory to how any of this started?

This is definitely on over dramatic family. No matter what's going on, someone turns it into some kind of soap opera or sob story. It's starting to get a bit hard to follow, as there is a lot of information thrown out without us having any knowledge as to what happened before and what lead to the current moment. But that's how season one has to start with a mini series like this: upscale the drama way more to keep the viewers engaged, that way they will come back for the next season and see what, if any, questions will be answered. I guarantee that they won't disappoint their fans in season two (yes it's been confirmed, there is a second season!! I'm not just setting you up for nothing!)

Keeping Up with the Watermelons season 2 will premiere in the middle on January after the start of the spring semester, and continue to premiere new episodes every Sunday night on Snapchat. You can also find them on Twitter, where they will continue posting their weekly episodes once they disappear from Snapchat.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
