7 Ways To Keep Up With Your College Pals This Summer

7 Ways To Keep Up With Your College Pals This Summer

1. FaceTime

Each week it is not hard to FaceTime your friends even if it is just for a quick ten minutes. Lots of things will happen over summer for you to tell them about, so take the few minutes to let them know what is happening in your life. My friend, Maddie, and I try to do this about once a week before she starts work and we always run out of time before we are really done.

2. Pen-Pals

Become pen pals with your college friends. Make it a goal to write your friends a few times through out the summer to keep in touch. It is a really thoughtful way to show them you care and that your thinking of them.

3. Book Club

Start a book together- then keep each other accountable for reading and talking about it each week. This is a cool way to keep in touch and connected doing something similar.

4. Exercise Buddies

Follow the same exercise program- this is something Maddie and I have also been trying to do this summer. I have to say she had done a better job following the weekly exercises, but it is a fun way to get in shape and to get talking when you have a tough day.

5. Plan A Visit

Plan a trip to see your sweet friends. Who said your friendship only had to be through the school year? Get in your car and visit your pals this summer! It is definitely worth it.

6. Start A TV Series Together

Each week watch an episode and then catch up on it and whatever else you missed!

7. Gift Exchange

This is a super fun idea and is something that you can look forward to! You and your friends can set a dollar amount limit (example: $15) that you have to spend on your friend for a sweet surprise, and then they do the same for you.

Keeping in touch despite the distance is hard, but making the effort to keep your friendships alive is something that your friends will value and something you will never regret!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
