Keep Your Loved Ones Close

Life works in interesting ways. People come and go, but the ones who are meant to stay in your life will find their way back to you. With that being said, we should always keep these people close to our hearts. Whether it be a friend, a pet, a family member, or a role model, they deserve to be treated with love and respect. They are the ones who have been there for us through thick and thin and would want to be by our side no matter what. It is important that we don't take that for granted. We never know when life can turn around unexpectedly.

We confide in our loved ones for a lot of things. Whether it be someone to talk to, explore the world with, eat with, or a shoulder to cry on. They are our biggest motivators and supporters. To me, the key to happiness is having good health and company (your loved ones). With all of these things, I firmly believe that one can live a happy life. There is no point in success unless you had someone to share it with. The best news is shared with the people you care about and the ones who you consider important in your life.

It is important that we help them when times get tough. The good ones will be there for you when you were there for them. They will not step all over you and risk what you had with them. After all, everything does happen for a reason - people come and go but the ones who are meant to stay will continue to do so. These are the people who stand by you and watch you grow and they are the ones who make you want to become a better person. They do not try to change your entire personality - these are considered toxic people. They lift you up and inspire you to make positive changes. Good friends, for example, do not change their character in certain circumstances - they continue to have the same values and beliefs. In other words, they do not change for the worse when put into a different social environment.

In mature relationships, people recognize what their priorities are. With that, they do not forget the ones who were there for them when no one else was. Both of them make the effort to communicate with one another and see each others' worth. They let each other know consistently through actions and words that they appreciate one another and that they are each other half. They do not try to change each other and work their way to conquer life, one step at a time together. They realize that they are not alone in this world and that they have each other no matter what. In certain circumstances, if life separates the two, they know that they will always be with each other.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
