Keep your head up.

If those people in the street tell you you'll never succeed at anything other than being a nobody, then look them in the eyes and exceed the expectations they said you'd never get to meet.

They threw words and fists at you like you were litter on the ground, wanting nothing more than to drag you down to where they stand; rise above their words and find your place away from them in this vast nation.

Show them that just because you started down lower in the city than them that you will climb higher up than they could ever hope to see. Show them who you made yourself to be in the city that never sleeps.

Keep your head up.

When those people see you clawing your way up the ladder day by day and try to push you back down to the bottom where they say you belong, show them why you can climb a ladder from the bottom or the top.

They will say you aren't good enough to be among the higher rungs, but you know better than that. They will soon find that you are made of stronger material than the ladder itself and you belong with the best kind.

If you find yourself forgetting why you ever started to climb or why you fight so hard, look back at the bottom rung where you started. There is no shame in looking back if you use the parted memories to see where you want to be.

Keep your head up.

If you get lonely as you climb the tall ladder to a better way a life, remember that you cannot stop moving and you cannot go back. The road to the future can sometimes be a lonely track, but it's one that matters.

Sometimes it may seem like you don't have a person left to fight for you in the world, but that will never be true. You are the most adamant when it comes to winning your fight, and, with a lot of belief, there is nothing you can't do for you.

The end may seem like it will never come, but I promise it will. The ladder of life doesn’t go on forever, and there are stops along the way that make the journey worth every day of struggle you ever had.

Keep your head up.

You are invincible because you're doing this for yourself. You are the only person who can tell you when you have to stop. Never let your dreams drop to the ground and never let your dreams stop.

You are better than what others think of you. Don’t let the harsh words people say keep your feet planted on the ground when you belong among the stars, when you belong where only love is around.

You can go on, whether it is going on to take that first step or what seems like the millionth step, you can do it. Never stop moving. As long as your heart beats strong inside your chest and your eyes stay open, don’t stop to rest.

Just keep your head pointed to where you want to go, and keep going on. You'll find that perfect moment where you belong. You'll find that melody of elements where the universe seems to be singing your favorite song. You will be that person you saw when you were down below the ladder, straining to see up very far.

You are a star with head held high.

You are a wonder with stories to rival the moods of the sky.

Keep your head up and go.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.
