I hate it when I'm hungry, I don't have anything around that's quick and not too fattening. I don't use a microwave. I find that my instant pot is a healthier option. I am a big fan of turkey meat, because it's so versatile. I can make meatballs, turkey burgers, or I could use it for tacos and burritos.
I'm also trying to keep an eye on my food proportion. Although I'm not always successful, I want to at least know how much I'm eating, and whether or not I'm overeating. I guess that I like to stay conscious of how much I'm eating (most of the time).
So, to make sure that I always have something to eat in a jiffy. I use my Instant Pot to cook up a couple of pounds of turkey meat every couple of months.
Turkey meat in an Instant PotClaudine Williams
I put fresh turkey meat in my Instant Pot for about 20 minutes with a little water at the bottom of the pot. Sit the raw turkey meat on the trivet, so the water should reach just barely touching the trivet. The purpose of the trivet is to keep the turkey meat out of the water.
Once the meat is cooked, I remove small portions from the pot, weight it, and put it into small freezer bags. Oh, I also label and date the bags. I weigh my meat out so it's around 3.5 ounces per bag. I crumble it with a fork first, because I usually use my turkey meat as a topping for salads or in a burrito.
Once the meat is all packaged, I put the date on the baggie, and put everything into the freezer. Turkey meat will last for several months, frozen, but I always eat mine within a month.
