Whether it's the snow keeping you in, ice and snow storms, or the mayor calling a state of emergency, if you are unable to go to the gym (or just don't want to make the trek in the cold), there are other ways to keep up your fitness inside! You can find a lot of free online workout videos onĀ Fitsugar or even Youtube. Here are some indoor workouts you can do even in your small dorm room:
1. Kettlebell workout
This one is from Women's Health Magazine, and is a personal favorite of mine! One possible complicationĀ is that you do need a kettlebell of some weight (mine is only 15 lbs, but you can go as heavy as you can while still keeping in form). It is quick, easy to follow, and comes in this printable poster:
2. Indoor HIIT circuit
This one is more cardio-based and will get your heart pumping. It's a HIIT (high intensity interval training) workout, and will allow you to maximize your workout in a shorter time, so you can get back to studying (or Netflix, or sleeping). What's more is that there is no equipment required at all, so get to it:

3. 10 Minute Indoor Cardio
This workout is only ten minutes long, but you can combine it with another workout (or weight training) if you want more. There's a lot of jumping and moving around, so clear off a little bit of space. You might have to push a desk over, but you can do it even in the smallest of dorm rooms.Ā It's not a poster, it's a video this time:

4. Scientific 7- Minute Workout
Delivered to us straight from the New York Times, this is a "scientific"Ā workout that supposedly condenses all the burn of a longer workout into 7 minutes (though I would recommend doing it twice through for a total of 14 minutes). And remember, because it's shorter, make sure you are doing the exercises at max intensity, not just going through the motions and timing yourself to "get through it."

5. 40-minute cardio + abs + weights
This one is the longest of these fiveĀ but works everything and is definitely worth it. It again comes in an easy-follow video. All you need is a set of dumbbells!

There you have it! These are only five workouts I have found online that you can do inside, and there are countless others you can find to get a workout in, even if you don't want to leave your comfy dorm room. There's no excuse ā get up, and get fit!
