Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, SBS

Probably my favorite Korean Drama of all time! This series is based on the Chinese novel Bu Bu Jing Xin. The plot starts off with 25 year old Go Ha-Jin (IU) who is transported back in time to the Goryeo Dynasty. Once you start, the storyline will make you go on an emotional rollercoaster and it is definitely worth the watch. Being a historical drama, the costumes and locations are done well.

2. Crash Landing on You

Genre: Romance, Comedy

Netflix

This show is currently a really popular Korean Drama on Netflix. The series features a woman Yoon Se-Ri who lands in North Korea after a paragliding accident. She meets some North Korean soldiers and tries to go back home without being caught with their help. Her character is a heiress in South Korea while the main male lead is an army officer for North Korea. The betrayal of her family and the kindness of her new friends will get you attached to the characters.

3 .W

Genre: Fantasy Romance

MBC

This Korean series is one of a kind! It shows the "clash" between two worlds, the real world and the world inside of a webtoon. I mean who hasn't had a crush on a 2D character? This drama tells the story of just that. Not only is it just romance between a surgical resident and the main lead in the webtoon but it also focuses a bit on solving a murder mystery. It is definitely a binge-worthy drama!

4. It's Okay To Not Be Okay

Genre: Comedy, Romance, Fantasy

TVN

This drama focuses on an anti-social female book author along with a psychiatric hospital employee and his mentally ill brother. This drama can be found on Netflix! I found it really interesting how the drama used different books with lessons that connected to the characters. It definitely reminds me of a fairytale itself. The road to healing for these characters is worth watching all the way.

5. Familiar Wife

Genre: Romance, Drama, Fantasy

This drama can be found on Netflix!TVN

Tired of his draining life, a man decides to take the chance to go back in time and choose to live his life differently. A different wife with no kids. The story is really relatable and teaches you a lesson or two on how to treat your partner so that both parties are happy. The interactions between the characters seem really sincere and play out realistic scenarios. There are various funny moments as well. This series is truly unique in the story it tells.

6. Private Lives

Genre: Crime, Drama, Romance

JTCB

This drama revolves around a female con artist who teams up with other con artists to uncover a surveillance scheme conducted by the government and a big corporation. The plot twists in this drama are really mind-blowing. Catfishing, betrayal, heartbreak. This series has a bit of everything The badass female lead who tries to help her boyfriend is really a turn of the tables to the "boy saves girl" plots.

Hopefully you found some new Korean Dramas to watch after going through this list!
