A Look Beyond the Lights

When something tragic happens to you sometimes you need time for yourself, or on the other hand you may have to throw yourself into work to distract you from what you really have to face. There are times it could be great because your creative juice can flow and it may bless the world. And at times you could drown in your sorrow and end up hurting yourself because you have no one to turn to, you just have to have the right people to uplift and steer you in the right direction. Kayne has been through a lot in the last 11 years from the death of his mother Donda West , from his first meltdown at the MTV music awards in 2009 , or the latest rant at his San Pablo concert this year. The question is what caused his melt breakdown?

In 2007 right after the release Graduation, Kanye's mother Donda passed away , West opened up about the tragic death of his mother Donda West in a interview with Q magazine in 2008 he unmasked that he felt responsible and accountable for her passing. This has influenced his music pattern from then to now currently where he only speak about his mother briefly in his lyrics like Clique' featuring Jay-z where he states that he went into deep depression when his mother passed , or FML on his current album where he talks aboutAsked by the magazine what in his life he has sacrificed for huge level of success, his response was his mother. He felt at that time if he never moved to California, his mother would have still been alive. He never really went into great detail in any interview about why he felt this way, but as a son who loves his mother I understand, because your mother is the first woman you ever love this started I believe is downward spiral. Then two years later at the MTV music awards he was seen on the red carpet drink a bottle of Hennessy. Even though he was nominated in a couple of categories he was snubbed , but that wasn't what triggered the first real meltdown. When the category of Best Female Video was being presented and Taylor Swift won he stormed the stage and told her and about 9 million viewers that Beyoncé should've won , which many agreed including myself. After that he took time to reflect because of the backlash that followed. After that he ranted but people accepted this was just Kayne West. Now to the latest situation with Mr.West where at his concerts he ranted about Jay-z and Beyoncé not being there after Kim Kardashian was robbed in Paris this past year, to Kid Cudi respecting the hierarchy because he made him , or him stating at his San Jose, California concert he didn't vote but if he did vote he would have voted Trump. Now after Kim was robbed at gun point in Paris he should have took some time off to focus on his wife and focus on his family, just like after the death of his mother he should have went away and mourned her loss. I believe if he would've went away he still could've been creative but learned how to deal with something traumatic at that time and for the future. We as the human race need to have more compassion for one another and pray verses talk and pointing out what's wrong with him.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
