With Prince Harry's recent wedding to Meghan Markle, the British royal family has been a big topic of conversation. Another popular topic is the birth of another royal baby - Prince Louis. His mother, Catherine Middleton, or as she's known in the UK - Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge, married into the royal family in April 2011, and has been in the spotlight ever since.

Princess Kate, hile a picture-perfect example of a proper royal, is also one of the best role models for young women in today's society. Millions of girls look up to her, myself included, and here's why.

1. She is an advocate for mental health.

The princess recently launched a website all about mental health, in an effort to help teachers and students improve their knowledge on the subject. She was also featured in a Mental Health Awareness video for the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families. She also participated in the Heads Together mental health campaign with her husband and brother-in-law, which made an effort to change the way people talk about mental health and encourage those who struggle to reach out for help.

2. She is very passionate about helping children.

In addition to her work surrounding children's mental health, she also works closely with charities that provide hospice care to children with life-limiting conditions. She promotes several organizations that provide this care and has taken part n multiple fundraising campaigns for such charities.

3. She is incredibly fashionable.

This comes as no surprise, considering she's married to a man who is in line to become the King of England. She wears a wide variety of designers but is frequently seen in Dolce & Gabbana, Seraphine, Jenny Packham, and Jimmy Choo.

4. She's educated.

Kate holds a degree in Art History from the University of St. Andrew's in Scotland. Even though she doesn't put this degree to much work - when Will takes the throne, she will be the first Queen of England to have a college degree.

5. She is a wonderful mother.

The Duchess is often photographed holding her children, walking them in a stroller, or just hanging out with them, and the kids always look happy. You can tell from their public appearances how well they are being raised, as they are well-mannered and absolutely adorable. Also, Kate and Will have often made statements to the media asking them to respect the privacy of their children.

6. She's actually relatable.

When she and Will first broke up while at university, she was photographed at several not-very-princess-like parties. One time, paparazzi took a very sneaky, very scandalous photo of her sunbathing topless while on holiday. She was hospitalized during all three of her pregnancies for a condition called hyperemesis gravidarum (severe morning sickness).

Though she is married to a prince, and will one day be called Queen Catherine - Kate is someone that all young women can look up to and aspire to be like. She is passionate, she is caring, and she is classy.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
