Have they become the new normal?

It has come a daily thing to hear the Kardashian name either positively or negatively, but no matter what, you hear this family is one of the most influential famous families. When we think of influential people, we might consider someone who has helped society one way or another. Unfortunately, this family has only given society drama and pointless problems.

I’m not going to lie; I have watched the show “Keeping Up with The Kardashians” just because I was curious to see what the big deal was about. Some of my friends constantly watch the show and, in a way, idolize them, which really surprises me because I still don’t understand what the big fuss is about. As I watch some episodes, I can’t help but laugh at the way they talk and act. When someone loses something, like an earring, we get upset, but we soon get over it because it was just something insignificant that can later be replaced unless it was something meaningful. The Kardashians, on the other hand, act like it’s the end of the world and their lives will forever be meaningless.

I’m sure I’m not the only who thinks about this, but what can we positively learn from all this phenomenon? Young women get the idea that they have to look and act a certain way in order to be idolized like the Kardashians. I understand that they are celebrities and all they do is get attention and money by providing entertainment, but at the same time they don’t encourage young people to do something more than care too much about what they look like and what new trends they have to follow. In a way, we can consider them a cult because they have so many followers who want to be like them, and we have to consider if this is good for society or not. We should consider them as celebrities and not try to imitate their lives because there is so much more we can do to better ourselves. We shouldn’t take them so seriously because their jobs is just to entertain us, for us to watch their show at the end of the day when we come home and need to relax.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
