In February of this year, Kanye West announced that he was $53 million in debt. $53 million may seem a lot to the average person, but Kanye West is no average person. For Kanye $53 million is only a portion of the cost of what it takes to create dreams, businesses and a profit.
Kanye and his different business ventures have been in the news a lot lately. This goes to show a few things. He hasn't stopped creating. Yes, that does mean money is being spent. But, every time Kanye does something it is in the news, meaning he is getting publicity, and ultimately publicity leads to profit.
So what has Kanye been doing and creating you ask?
The day after he publicly announced he was in debt, Kanye released his newest album, "The Life of Pablo." This album was his seventh album (of seven) to hit number one on the Billboard 200.
Kanye's Saint Pablo Tour will kick off in Indianapolis, Indiana, on August 25, 2016, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The tour will span until November 1, 2016, where Kanye will perform his fourth show in Los Angeles, California.
On June 24, 2016, at The Forum in Los Angeles, California, Kanye released the music video for his track "Famous," off of "The Life of Pablo" album. Thus far the video has proved to be quite controversial, as it features naked look-a-likes of celebrities all laying in bed together. The video has an interesting choice of famous figures, including: George W. Bush, Anna Wintour, Donald Trump, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Taylor Swift, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Ray J, Amber Rose, Caitlyn Jenner and Bill Cosby. The video is now exclusively available on Tidal for public viewing.
Kanye has also done a great deal of work and had many successes in the fashion industry. In his collaboration with Adidas, he has released three shoes along with three seasons of clothing under the Yeezy title.
Adidas and Kanye West just announced that they will be expanding their partnership. The line is called "adidas + KANYE WEST" and apparently is the biggest partnership Adidas has ever had with a non-athlete. Although times and locations have not yet been announced, Adidas stores that only stock Yeezy products will be a part of this deal.
