With summer quickly approaching why not already start looking into the next school year? I mean we all know summer is going to fly by and might as well have something to look forward to, right? Now if you are not a huge sports fan this article will probably not appeal to you at all and I am not really sure what you should be excited about when summer is ending, but for those of you sports lovers like me here are some things to look forward to.

Football season. That is all there is to say (I am going to say more but just go with it). Even if you are not a sports fan most people look forward to football season. In my opinion, it is by far the best season of the year. There are many reasons to be excited for football season such as tailgating, seeing and hanging out with friends that you have not seen all summer, and finally getting to cheer on the Cats again.

This year, however, there is a little extra something to look forward to (at least in my opinion there is). The Cats went 8-5 last year and won their bowl game. With many returning starters, look for another competitive season, and hopefully an even better one than last year. Big 12 Championship run??

Now we all know football season will fly by just about as fast as summer flew by, but no worries we still have more to look forward to. Kansas State basketball. While this is not usually something K-State fans really look forward to, this year is quite different.

The Cats finished the 2017-2018 season with an NCAA Tournament run to the Elite Eight. Did I mention we have every starter back? The Cats preseason rankings for next season on six different sites are: 10 by NBC Sports, 12 by CBS Sports, 12 by USA Today, 13 by The Athletic, 13 by Yahoo, and ESPN just recently revised theirs and pushed us up to 12. The Cats will likely be one of the biggest threats to KU losing their Big 12 Championship streak.

Are we looking at another year like 2012-2013? Maybe, at least I sure hope so. Students in my opinion should be getting excited for this next school year.

Kickoff may still be 129 days away, but it is never too early to be excited for football season. Before we know it it will be basketball season, so lets get ready to pack the Bill this fall and Bramlage this winter, oh and always remember Cats by 90.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
