So what is all the fuss about this time? Someone who is in the spotlight standing up for people of color and socking it back to the United States and what it does to people of color. From what I have been reading and hearing the American football quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers Colin Kaepernick did not stand for the national anthem. So you are mad? At least he explains his reasoning, "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color." You know what? He is so right! It is all fun and games till someone of color does the same thing that has been going on for years which is not standing for the national anthem. Just recently him and a teammate did it together before a game. But I heard no one getting mad at Trump for doing it? Even though it seemed he put it up after everyone else did but when he does salute that arm gets kind of high such as how Hitler did. I hear crickets though. But I did hear Gabby Douglas catching all types of criticism. Do you understand what I am getting at here? I digress. Oh and before I forget stop trying to use the military as a way for y'all to make him feel bad as a military member we protect the rights of our country and not everyone is getting that. Paper wise they may be but in the real world they are not especially people of color. Here is what he had to say about the whole military thing: "I have great respect for the men and women that have fought for this country. I have family, I have friends that have gone and fought for this country. And they fight for freedom, they fight for the people, they fight for liberty and justice, for everyone. That's not happening. People are dying in vain because this country isn't holding their end of the bargain up, as far as giving freedom and justice, liberty to everybody. That's something that's not happening. I've seen videos, I've seen circumstances where men and women that have been in the military have come back and been treated unjustly by the country they fought have for, and have been murdered by the country they fought for, on our land. That's not right." So I stand/kneel with Kaepernick and his low key nappy fro! I hope y'all stay mad because you now know he has started a storm of other celebs doing the same thing and I am here for it. Oh and another thing these Uncle Toms that are so against Kaepernick trying to say that he does not need to defend people of color? How about you start to defend people of color before you try to stop someone else to do it and quit the whole "He is not black." He may not be but he knows what is right and wrong. Take a look at his Instagram he is not playing when it comes to the empowerment of the colored folk.
