Justin Bieber And Halsey: Why This Might Be The Best Collab Yet

Justin Bieber is back. After an extremely long studio hiatus, Bieber is back and is better than ever. I have always admired Justin in one way or another. Like many other 12-year-old girls, he made me cry, scream and laugh as he took over the world with his music almost seven years ago. Bieber has always been and will always be a phenomenon. He has set the expectations high for aspiring young male solo artists. Now-a-days, for any young guy with good looks and a decent voice, it’s practically a compliment to be compared to the Biebs.

In this past year alone, Justin has released three songs that have been instant hits. Bieber released “Where Are U Now?” in February with Skrillex and Diplo. The power team soaked radio waves with this jam, making it number one on the charts since it has been released. Speculations were made that this song was apparently written about the dramatic relationship between Bieber and on again off again girlfriend, Selena Gomez. Hey, who knows?

Bieber also surprised us with another song titled “What Do You Mean?” at the end of this past summer. Although I’ll admit, this song was definitely not my favorite when it was first released, it really started to grow on me. Before the song was even released, Bieber and his team anticipated an exciting release. After reposting many other celebrities Instagram pictures on his own page, it was a known fact that this song was going to be huge. Stars like Kendall and Kylie Jenner and Miley Cyrus helped Bieber promote the release. On August 28th, WDYM was leaked and the world went berserk. Bieber had officially returned back to the music scene, and we had all just wanted more from him. Now, this song does not leave my head. EVER.

With news this past week that Bieber is set to release a full length album titled Purpose in November, we all have yet another Bieber-related event to be excited about. Now that Purpose is available for preorder on ITunes, you can download Bieber’s new song titled "Sorry" as soon as you make the purchase. "Sorry"incorporates lyrics of sincere apology due to heartbreak… hmmm… possibly another song directed toward Selena? This brand-new song is just another hint as to what we should expect from the upcoming album.

Although Bieber has had such a huge impact on the music industry and Hollywood, these past few years, a newer artist who goes by the stage name of “Halsey” is creating chatter among the same demographic...Bieber fans. American singer-songwriter Ashley Frangipane, known as Halsey has made her way to the scene, catching the attention of pop music enthusiasts. With her debut EP, titled "Room 93," Halsey gave us a taste of her image with her dark, edgy pop sound. Like Bieber, Halsey also had a huge moment with her music released this summer when hit us with her album "Badlands" which skyrocketed to the top of the charts, including the hits “New Americana” and “Ghost." While staying true to her style, Halsey showcases her talents on this new album.

These two stars, one with already so much history in the music business, and one with an outstanding potential to rise to his level, have announced that they will be collaborating on a track produced by Skrillex, called “The Feeling.” In fact, star struck and nervous herself, Halsey announced this upcoming song on Vine. The effort going into this single is definitely one to make a chart-topping song. Between Bieber’s already known sound and Halsey’s charisma, "The Feeling" is sure to be a huge success.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
