Social Media is going wild with The Kenneka Jenkins story. This story just shows that everyone is not your friend, watch carefully who you hang around, because not everybody has good intentions.
Jenkins was a 19-year-old teen living in Chicago. It was one of her close friends birthday, so the friend threw a hotel party. A group of people were there enjoying themselves. There were alcohol and men involved. The friend decided to go live on Facebook and this is where you see some foul play go on.
I watched the video with subtitles, because there is so much going on, it's easy to be manipulated. Jenkins sounded slightly intoxicated and you can hear her friends telling her to "enjoy herself" while she's telling them "I'm not drunk," You can hear the men asking her questions as well.
Someone continues to turn the music up when she starts to speak, and in one part of the video it sounds like she says "help me," but it's hard to say because it's muffled. The foul play is that Jenkins goes to the party with her "friends" starts to drink, one of the friends takes her out the room, and then you never see Jenkins again.
Jenkins friends did not tell her mother she was missing until hours after Jenkins left the room. Jenkins originally drove to the hotel party in her mom's car, the friends returns the mother's car without Jenkins being in the car. One of the friends works at the hotel, and Jenkin's body was found in a deep freezer only accessible to hotel workers.
The police are trying to say Jenkins walked in the freezer voluntarily. If that was true, how did Jenkins do that by herself? I say this because she was drunk at the time, so it's possible that she was stumbling and for her to find her way to somewhere not accessible to guest is impossible. How would Jenkins know where that deep freezer is by herself and how would she get access.
Screenshots were also leaked between Jenkins friend and one of the men, discussing selling jenkins for $200. Overall this whole situation is foul. Everybody that was there is in the wrong in my opinion. Someone should have called the police, Jenkin's mom, or hotel security if they saw Jenkins leave and never return.
My condolences go out to the family and I hope this story teaches people to choose their friends wisely. Just because the girls are popular and in the "In Crowd" does not mean it's a true friendship. Separate the fake from the real in all situations.
