It has been two years since Taylor Swift has released her multiplatinum album entitled “1989”, and rumor has it that fans are not going to have to wait any longer to hear new music. A lot has happened in the last two years for Swift, from being blindsided by Kanye to having her heart broken by not only Calvin but also Harry, and we can’t forget the ever famous feud between her and Katy Perry. But have no fear, Swifties. Here are seven new tracks that are sure to fill the empty space in your music library dedicated completely to Swift’s soon to be sixth album.
1. Two Weeks ft. One Direction
That's right. Swift starts her album off with a bang, and by bang I mean reuniting One Direction to do an ode to her two week long relationship with one of the band members, Harry Styles. I mean, we all remember when she mocked his British accent at the Grammy’s, but apparently, they rekindled their romance for about two weeks. But of course, wherever there is a breakup, there is a new chart topper for Swift
2. Rumor Has It
This song is dedicated to Taylor’s most recent relationship with Tom Hiddleston, which is rumored to be a publicity stunt. WHAT?! I know. Who would date Tom just for publicity? But soon after her split from Calvin Harris was confirmed, Swift and Hiddleston went public with their relationship on a beach outside of her Long Island home. The sudden new love interest rose several suspensions about a possible media scandal, and to this day, Hiddleswift is still said to be a media scandal.
3. Not-So-Famous ft. Kanye
This song is dedicated to the famous feud between Kanye West and Taylor Swift that has been brewing since 2009. The feud hit its peak when Kanye debuted his song “Famous” with the lyrics,”I think me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I make that b*tch famous.” You made her famous, alright, Kanye, but not how she wanted. Taylor went on to say that she never wanted to be called “that b*tch”, and Kanye never asked for her opinion. Oops, Kanye, you messed up.
4. I’m So Sorry
This song goes out to Kim Kardashian-West, who had her husbands back and recorded a phone call between him and Swift where he read off his “Famous” lyrics, and she approved them. Taylor was later called a liar by the media. Oops, it looks like you messed up, Taylor.
5. I Came For You ft. Calvin Harris
Don’t you just love how artists use their personal life for inspiration? That is exactly what Taylor did when she wrote this hit, using it as a backfire at Calvin Harris for taking credit for the song they wrote together entitled “This Is What You Came For”. Taylor used this song to show her true talents and, also, admit the fact that she isn’t over Calvin. The DJ jumped into the track, and this is rumored to be the beginning of round two for the artists.
6. I’m Hot, Your Cold
This song is an ode to the one and only, Katy Perry, and her sneaky ways of rehiring her dancers right under Taylor’s nose and right in the middle of tour season. There was rumored to be a feud brewing since 2013, right about the time Taylor split from John Mayer and Katy swooped in and wooed him. But who am I to say any of this is true? I mean, Taylor only mentioned it in her Rolling Stone interview, so why not write another song about it?
7. Beauty
This song is written in light of the most resent squad shaming done by Demi Lovato, who says that the way Taylor and her squad shamed Katy Perry and did the music video for “Bad Blood” is uncalled for. Demi went on to say that Taylor’s squad is only composed of models and girls with above average body types. Maybe Demi is jealous because she never received a formal invitation to join the squad, but either way this song talks about how beauty is only skin deep and how you should befriend people base purely on their character.
