We all have those mornings when we wake up, and immediately the world is bombarding us from every direction. The stress and anxiety overwhelm our hearts and minds, causing us to not be able to function correctly. Even though you know what will fix the issue, we still struggle to open up to God. Why do we do that? We have the answer right in front of us, the Ultimate Solution, yet we still decide we want to go through the pain of the world alone. I believe there are a few reasons that talking to God is so tough.
I believe we have anger in our hearts. Dwelling on things people have done to us only creates separation from The Lord. He is a forgiving Father, and when we don't follow in His footsteps the way we should, we begin to fall away from Him. He says to always forgive, and just like any other sin, if we don't listen to God's desires for us, we find ourselves in a place we might not want to be in. Also, I think that this anger isn't always necessarily towards people. Rather, it could actually be manifested towards The Lord. Maybe The Lord has closed a door in your life that you didn't want him to, and now you think that The Lord is just trying to hurt you. Even though we have all gone through this in some sort of way, the thing that we have to remember is that it's not about the door that was closed, it's about the other door that is opened wide. Your anger and hostility towards God are quite frankly self-detrimental. It may feel like you are "getting back at Him," but that is really just Satan's ploy to distance yourself from your Father and create barriers between you and God. That pain that you feel from that situation God pulled you from is something we often look at in the wrong light. Many times we see pain as something that is holding us back and preventing us from being the best person we can be. We shut down to God and create a silent barrier between us and The Lord. This makes us feel like we are cut out from His love. On the contrary, He loves us even more than we think He does, even in those painful moments. The wonderful thing about the painful moments is that The Lord doesn't allow us to go through them without an end game. Through this pain, we will experience a newfound hope and joy in our reunion with The Lord that we have never felt before. Once we grasp this and begin to understand that the Lord is for us, not against us, we will become more fulfilled and happier than ever before. It just takes one step in the right direction.
