I don't know about y'all but the warmer weather has my mind in a place that is definitely not school. I keep having to remind myself that spring break isn't even here yet and that I still have another year of college left. You could say that I spent a lot (okay, most) of my time daydreaming about anything that isn't school. It simply puts me in a good mood. So if you're stuck in that ~almost midterms but not quite~ rut, here are some sweet thoughts for ya:

1. Living in a studio apartment with exposed brick

2. Being able to buy yourself flowers regularly without worrying about how much they cost

3. Sitting in a freestanding bathtub full of nice smelling bubbles with candles, wine, and a good book

4. Getting work done that you actually enjoy doing in a cute coffee shop

5. Dropping everything and going on a road trip with your best friend when the weather is nice

6. Napping in a hammock with your babe

7. Brunch

8. Going to a farmer's market

9. Having a kitchen with a butcher's block island, farmhouse sink, and an espresso machine

10. Putting your feet in white sand and looking out to the clear blue ocean that never ends

11. Kissing your sweetheart for a good long while

12. Later, when you have kids, and you just have a mini combination of you and the person you love running around

13. How fun it will be to go house hunting with your spouse

14. Animals wearing flower crowns

15. Doing yoga outside

16. Planting a lil garden

17. Making s'mores on a campfire

18. Eating salted caramel ice cream on cones with your best friend

19. Floating the river

20. Buying kitchenware that all matches and is ~aesthetically pleasing~

21. Riding in a truck with the windows down on a back road at 1am with your friends

22. What it'd be like to go to Hogwarts

23. What your wedding cake will be like

24. Living somewhere completely different for a few years

25. Buying a plane ticket spontaneously and going for a weekend trip

26. Summer smells like sunscreen, freshly mowed grass, and sea salt air

27. Walking your dream dog

28. Days where you'll get to help your kid with homework and being thankful you'll never have to do your own homework ever again

29. Swimming in an infinity pool

30. What your own coffee shop would be like if you owned one

31. The five top things you're saving up for right now

32. How you'll decorate your future apartment/house

33. What it'd be like to kiss your favorite celebrity

The best thing is, some of these nice little thoughts you can actually do this weekend! Go camping, plant a garden, do some yoga outside...make yourself happy. Daydream on~

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
