October is a turning point for the Noles. Football season is in full swing; we get our first tastes of the cool weather that will soon replace beastly heat, and homecoming is just around the corner. Here's what else we can count on.
1. Everybody is sick.
Whether it's coughing, sneezing, or heaving, at some point or another, you and everyone you know will get what we Noles affectionately refer to as "The Plague."
2. Everything smells like a pumpkin.
There's pumpkin everything. Coffee, ice cream, soup, candles, EVERYTHING.
3. Your professors all try to make small talk about football.
Just to be greeted by a sea of apathetic nods
4. Strozier is PACKED.
Because the only thing worse than Strozier during finals week is Strozier during midterm week.
5. All of your classmates, friends, and professors look like zombies.
Every assignment seems to hit at once, and everyone is exhausted.
6. You dress for the morning temperature, but you're a sweaty mess by noon.
You check your phone for the weather before your 8 a.m. so you put on a sweater, and by noon you can't breathe.
7. The Dance Marathon folks are testing the waters.
To be found outside of all of your classroom buildings, at all the restaurants that do "share-its," and probably popping out from underneath the stalls in the bathroom.
8. There are new couples all over campus.
And they can't seem to keep their hands off of each other
9. But it's the start the best season!
There are haunted houses, pumpkin patches, and weather we can actually stay outside in. What's not to love?
