The transition from being a kid to an adult is rough one, especially when it seems you have the weight of the world on your shoulders. So here's so advice from me to you, on how to keep your head on straight while taking on the world.

1. You Need to Set Difficult Goals

College is the time in your life to branch out, push yourself, and grow in the direction you're called. Set hard goals and push yourself to grow, because you can do more than you think. Especially when you have free access to a stuff like library databases.

2. You Need to Find Your Real Friends

Finding your real friends can mean letting others go, and that's okay. As you reach goal after goal you're going to grow faster than other people in your life, and there's nothing wrong with that. You also aren't going to have time or emotional capacity for drama, so find your people.

3. You Need to Ask for Help

Two heads are always better than one. It doesn't matter if you're trying to organize a research paper, trying to write a business plan, or starting a non-profit -- someone else's perspective can make all the difference. Especially with proofreading.

4. You Need to Have Down Time

Binge watching Netflix one night of the week is totally acceptable -- just not every night of the week. You need to laugh and spend time with your friends too because they're in the exact same boat as you and can probably sympathize.

5. You Need to Get in a Routine

You are your habits. If you want to be successful, you need to mimic the habits of your role models. You need to eat healthy to keep your energy level up. You need to develop a regular sleep schedule. And you definitely need to get in a workout routine.

6. You Need to Listen to Your Gut

Your gut knows when things are not worth your time or just not going right, so listen to it. With only 24 hours in a day, you don't have time to waste on something that you're not passionate about.

7. You Need to Relax

You are your own worst critic. Relax a little bit, breathe, and don't stress out so much. You are trying to take on the world, find your place in the world, and survive in today's world; That's not easy, so lighten up.

8. You Need to Plan

'Proper Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance.' Schedule time to do homework, time to work, time to workout, and time to do whatever you feel like. Figure out your budget and what you can spend money on. Give yourself a game plan.

9. You Need to Reward Yourself

Congratulations on good midterm grades! Take any excuse you can to celebrate the wonderful things in life. You have the world at your feet, even if you don't always see it.

10. You Need to Enjoy It

You'll never be this young again. You're never going to get to relive these days, so take them in one at a time. Don't wish for the boring stuff to pass or you'll be thinking that way for the rest of your life. Enjoy the experience and make it your own.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
